Committed Coaches

Our Coaches are committed, supportive and focused
on player wellbeing

Bentleigh Junior Football Club (BJFC) prides itself on its inclusive coaching culture, which has led to strong player retention and community connection.

Our coaching philosophy prioritises player development and fun, with winning being secondary, especially for players up to U12. The club fosters an environment of encouragement and support, ensuring that every player feels valued.

We focus on building connections within the broader football community through partnerships with the Bentleigh Senior Football Club and Auskick Centre, helping to retain players and strengthen the junior player base.

BJFC actively recruits younger coaches, aiming to cultivate future leaders in football. We also encourage parent involvement and mentorship from past coaches. All coaches are required to be accredited and sign a Coaching Code of Conduct, with access to resources and coaching expertise for continuous development.

Our three-year coaching tenure policy ensures players are exposed to a range of coaching styles, methods, and personalities, avoiding a one-dimensional approach and promoting a well-rounded understanding of the game. This is particularly important for player development in the U8-U12 age groups.

We emphasise strong succession planning, ensuring a sustainable coaching structure that can adapt to future needs. Overall, BJFC is committed to creating an environment where players and coaches thrive, with the focus on long-term development and enjoyment of the game.
